Pathways for Children, Youth and Familes of York Region
Pathways has roots in York Region reaching back 20 years. As a United Way member agency, we are an important part of the Region’s Youth Development Strategy. Our programs and facilities serve young families, children, youth and caregivers.
Pathways has two goals, to inspire and empower young people in crisis to turn their lives around and to inspire and empower parents to get their preschoolers off to a great start in life. All youth deserve the opportunity to live in a respectful, caring and supportive environment. Pathways Residential Youth Homes in Markham provide temporary housing for youth in need of care and shelter. We also offer aftercare and transitional Supports to help youth on their paths to success. With life's challenges, it can be hard for a young person to stay on track. Pathways' Home Base Youth Drop In Centre located in Richmond Hill offers youth down time, answers and support. Each month Home Base serves more than 100 homeless or at risk youth between the ages of 13 and 24. Base 4 Success helps young people get ready for work with employment readiness programming.

Supporting Individuals
Maddie White, Trainer
Maddie White, the lead trainer for JLT Kickstart's Running program, has been running for most of her life, and believes strongly in the healing and health properties that running provides. Since she began university, her focus has shifted from her own competitive running to coaching other runners; she has now led over a dozen Running Room clinics and continues to coach in the University of Toronto Triathlon Club. When she is not roaming the streets in her running apparel, she is finishing her degree in political science and women’s studies at the University of Toronto.
